Need a Motor Club!
Motor clubs are organizations, either for-profit or non-profit, which motorists (drivers, vehicle owners) can join to enjoy certain benefits provided by the club relating to driving a vehicle. There is typically an annual membership fee to join. A motor club membership identification card, valid for the time period of membership paid, is typically issued to the member.
Typical motor club benefits may include the following:
Use of membership card as bail bond card for minor traffic violations. In the USA this is especially useful for members driving outside their own state, since other state law enforcement agencies commonly do not recognize posting out-of-state driver's licenses as bail bond, but often accept motor club member cards.
Emergency road service upon presentation of membership card. Often there is a nationwide network with agreements with various local towing and other emergency road service providers.
Providing members with maps or other tourist or motoring information in some cases.
In some cases, reward stickers or decals may be provided to the member to place in the window of his/her vehicle, offering a reward to someone locating or reporting a stolen vehicle.
Sometimes certain services related to vehicles such as transferring ownership may be provided to members at a reduced cost.
Some businesses such as motels may provide members of certain motor clubs with discounts upon presentation of their motor club membership cards.

Masters
AUGUSTA, Ga. — The three legends walked to the first tee through a throng of admirers. As ceremonial firsts go, you can't get much better than Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player starting your event.
Emerging from the Augusta National clubhouse to cheers and pats on the back and walking about 50 yards to the first tee, the Big Three got the 77th edition of the Masters underway on a misty, cloudy Thursday.
MASTERS: Tee times, TV schedule
At 7:45 a.m. ET, Palmer, a four-time champion, hit a solid drive down the right side of the fairway, thrusting his fist in celebration. Player, a three-time champion, was next and he, too, found the fairway. Nicklaus, who has won a record six times at Augusta, topped off the perfect fairways-in-regulation with another solid drive.
Masters champion Sandy Lyle, John Peterson and amateur Nathan Smith officially hit the first tee shots at 8 a.m.
On the scene: A steady stream of spectators headed down to Amen Corner to get a prime seating location — an hour at least before any player gets there. Many, however, are making stops on the right side of 10 — to see where Bubba Watson was when he hit his miracle shot last year. The area is getting trampled down – don't know if that will make the shot easier if it comes up again?
The Big Oak Tree between the clubhouse and the first tee — the main hub of Augusta National — was buzzing this morning. Nicklaus was holding court with a few reporters while wife Barbara patiently — once again — waited for the scrum to end. Major champions Lanny Wadkins and Fuzzy Zoeller, the 1979 Masters champion, were chatting with friends. CBS announcer Jim Nantz was given an interview and talking with fans. Green jackets were on the veranda. Television crews were already in full gear. There are a few lulls in the action under the Oak, estimated to be 150 years old, but throughout the day, it's a busy place and basically a happening every day.

Rehtaeh Parsons, Canada teen, kills herself after rape
It’s been called Canada’s Steubenville.
Rehtaeh Parsons, just 17 years old, was taken off life support Sunday after she’d attempted suicide Thursday by hanging herself in the bathroom. Her story, though, began almost 18 months earlier when she was 15 years old and four boys allegedly raped her at a friend’s house in November 2011.
Rehtaeh Parsons died Sunday, nearly 18 months after an alleged rape by four high school boys. (Facebook)
Like the rape of the West Virginia girl by two high school football players in Steubenville, Ohio, the victimization didn’t stop with the sexual assault.
One young man had snapped a photo of the incident with his phone, and that photo was sent to every student in their school, according to Parsons’s mother Leah Parsons. This is the part I don’t understand: Instead of siding with a teenage girl who’s been violated, some of Parsons’s classmates called her “a slut.”
“Rehtaeh was suddenly shunned by almost everyone she knew,” her mother wrote on theFacebook page she set up in her daughter’s memory. “The harassment was so bad she had to move out of her own community to try to start anew in Halifax.”
Rehtaeh struggled with depression and thoughts of suicide, even checking herself into a psychiatric hospital for several weeks.
After learning of the alleged rape, the family reported it, but too much time had passed for a rape kit. Without that kind of evidence, the case turned into her word against that of the boys, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police concluded there was insufficient evidence for prosecution after a year-long investigation.
Tuesday, Nova Scotia’s Justice Minister Ross Landry said he is now looking into ways to review the case, reversing his earlier position.
The justice system “failed” her daughter, Rehtaeh’s mother wrote on Facebook. She blamed her daughter’s death on three factors: The boys who raped her and then thought it was “fun” to share a photo “to ruin her spirit and reputation;” the “bullying and messaging and harassment that never let up;” and the failure of the justice system to prosecute the case.
Just as social media was used to harass her in life, it has now come — too late to save her — to her defense, with calls for justice.
This isn’t an isolated case. We have Lizzy Seeberg at Notre Dame, we have the West Virginia girl raped by Steubenville football players, and we have the case of my best friend’s daughter, who was raped by three student athletes her sophomore year of high school at a party in a suburb of Kansas City, Mo.
Again, the victimization did not stop with the rape. Stories circulated about that night and she was labeled a slut. Friends dropped her. She wanted to forget it. She did not tell her parents until after a suicide attempt and a bout with anorexia.
Now, nearly five years later, she still struggles.
Her mother believes these cases “are incredibly common,” she told me. “I don’t understand this victimization of the victim and having people turn on her.” She blames a culture that nurtures student athletes, elevating them to a “god-like status” and allowing them anything they want. She also wonders if some of the girls who were so hateful to her daughter will someday look back and realize their behavior was wrong.
And she wonders if her daughter will survive.
